On Monday, Vernon King the last of the defendants in the Chukchansi Casino raid case – where members of the Tex McDonald faction and its tribal police and security officers forcibly entered the casino gaming office in October 2014 to find documents for two years of audits that were late in being submitted to the National Indian Gaming Commission – settled his case.
The settlement brings the year-long case to a conclusion, a case that never should have been filed, according to criminal defense attorney Mark Coleman.
Coleman, a partner at the Law Offices of Nuttall & Coleman, represented nine of the 15 men who were arrested on 29 felony counts, three of whom settled last month under the same terms as King.
“What happened to these men was a travesty, but ultimately, this is a reasonable solution,” Coleman told the Fresno Bee. “Ultimately, I’m satisfied with the resolution.”
